STURTEVANT — Cree Inc., which has offices and a manufacturing plant at 9201 Washington Ave., announced the introduction of its new LED T8 tube.

The Cree LED T8 tube looks like a traditional fluorescent tube, but is dimmable, lights instantly, doesn’t contain mercury and emits 1700 lumens of high CRI light, all while using 42 percent less energy and lasting more than 50,000 hours, according to a release from Cree.

The most compatible LED tube on the market, this 48 inch T8 LED fluorescent tube is a quick and easy way to upgrade existing fluorescent fixtures to energy-efficient LED, according to the release.

According to a press release, the T8 tubes are most commonly used in closets, garages, laundry rooms and some kitchens. The Cree LED T8 tube has a high CRI over 90, nearly unmatched for LED T8 tubes.

The tube weighs less than a traditional fluorescent 48 inch T8 tube, has a durable, shatter-proof plastic exterior and a 5-year warranty!
