Best Lighting Quit Signs Recalled | – LED, LED Lighting, LE

Exit led downlight signs with emergency lights that were manufactured by Best Lighting Products, which has a location in the Etna Corporate Park, have been recalled, according to the Associated Press.

A local Best led downlight representative referred all inquires regarding the recall of the LHQM LED Exit Signs with Emergency Lights to Lithonia Lighting, the distributor.

The nationwide recall was prompted by fixtures that can malfunction and fail to illuminate during a power failure, the AP reported. As a result, there could be inadequate lighting to guide people out of a building during an emergency.

Best Lighting manufactured the emergency lights, according to the AP, and the exit signs were manufactured in China.

Ten reports of the signs malfunctioning came to light during testing, said Michelle McConnaghy, of Lithonia Lighting, a division of Acuity Brands lighting Inc. of Conyers, Ga. No injuries were attached to the reported malfunctions.

The products were sold by authorized distributors across the nation between January and May of this year, McConnaghy said.

No more than 450 of the led downlight products were sold, McConnaghy added.

Lithonia Lighting is advising anyone who bought one of the products to call (800) 334-8694 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional information can be found on the company’s website at www.lithonialighting.com.

Best Lighting, a manufacturer of specialty led downlight lighting products, moved its home office to the Etna Corporate Park in 2004. According to the company’s website, Best Lighting also has operations in Las Vegas and an office in China.
